Prince Kuhio #106 Guest Book - Year 2005
Nov 27/05
Aloha,
Thank you for unit #106. My wife Anne and I had a wonderful stay
here. Both of us are 1st time visitors to Kauai and are already
planning our return.
Our week went by much too fast. Each morning some local coffee
was brewed, and after a quick breakfast we walked to Lawai Beach
next to the Beach House for a snorkel. Over the week we saw
turtles, trumpet fish and even a moray eel. Fantastic snorkeling
on our doorstep... what more could you want.
We've driven to both sides of the island til the end of the road
at Polihale, and past Tunnels to the North. Favorite beaches were
Kekaha, Brennekes (great boogie boarding), and PoliHale (what a drive)!
We drove up to see the Canyon, but the fog at the top was so thick
there wasn't much to see.
The kitchen in this unit is superb. We cooked every dinner and
breakfast here, only having lunches out. Thanks for the cooler,
we used it every day.
Mahalo for a wonderful vacation home!

Aloha!
We have had a great time staying in #106. A very busy 4 day stay.
Starting with a visit to the canyons. Drove up before we checked in.
Gorgeous, prettier than the Grand Canyon. Went to Roy's at night.
The next day we hopped around from Poipu Beach to Prince Kuhio
snorkeling. that afternoon we did a helicopter tour with Will
Squires - we highly recommend. The best view on the island.
That night we went to a Luau at Gaylords. Great food.
The next day we took a drive up to the North Shore. Hiked down
to "Secret Beach". We were the only ones there but the 10 minute
hike is down a very steep hill. The hill was very muddy. Well,
you can imagine the rest. If you go we suggest wearing outback,
rugged sandals. A very cool beach to visit. Has a waterfall
but dangerous at the to swim. Went to Kee Beach all the way to
the end of 56. Nice calm water to snorkel but Poipu Beach is better.
That night we ate at Poipu Beach Broiler. Food was good, we liked
the ribs. Today, our last day, we did a deep sea fishing charter.
Kaibear Charter are very nice. We caught a tuna each. Had a blast!
We spent our last night at the "Beach House". We weren't able to get
reservation at sunset but we were so tired from being out on the boat
that we needed some time to rest and get ready for dinner. What an
adventurous 4 days! In between our adventures we did get some down
time.

P.S. We look forward to seeing the kids, but we sure do dread the long
flight back home!

Aloha,
What a great vacation. We went from one end of the road to the
other end of the road. Seeing as much as we could along the way.
The condo is a great place to call home at the end of the day.

Happy Halloween from Gwen & Bob!
Sadly we have to pack up and leave today, but it has been a
wonderful eight day break for us. We are leaving 2 boogie
boards and two beach mats for all to enjoy. The condo was
great - location is good and we loved the huge shower after
a salty and sunny day. We used the "Ultimate Kauai Guide"
book and made a point to try some of the out-of-the-way
places as well as the obvious highlights. There just isn't
enough time to do it all, but we gave it our best shot. Thank
you for many happy memories!

Our stay here at #106 has been great! Heather and I are here
celebrating our ten year anniversary and having this place as
a home base has made our trip that much better. Great location
here in the South. We woke up every morning to watch the
sunrise right outside our door. And at the end of the day we
always found ourselves walking down to the Beach House to catch
beautiful sunsets.
It seems like we've been from one tip of this island to the other.
On the
West Shore we recommend PoliHale Beach at Queen's Pond. Great
for snorkeling, floating around and sun bathing. Waimea Canyon was
also a highlight. The drive is fun and the sights are breathtaking.
We also drove to the North, which is also a great drive and very
scenic. the snorkeling at Ke'e beach was awesome. We also went
to Mo'oloa Bay and had the beach all to ourselves.
Everything here is the South seems to be a must see. Poipu beach
park, Kiahuna beach, Spouting Horn and a handful of others were all
worth our time. I just wish we had about 3 more days here! Even
with all the things we did during our stay, we still have a huge
remaining list of things we want to do or see. I guess we will
have to come back. the island of Kauai is a paradise found.
Having all the essentials here at #106 gave Heather and I a home
away from home. We ate a majority of our dinners in and make
good use of the BBQ area, which is great. All the cooking utensils
and equipment are right of the mark.
Thanks for the great place to stay and the wonderful memories.
We would not hesitate to stay with Jack & Dorinda again on our next
trip, which we now realize is a sure bet. We're definitely
coming back to Kauai!
Mahalo! Safe travel and happy exploration!

P.S. Two bar stools would make the counter top perfect for eat-in
breakfast. :-)

Thanks for sharing your home on Kauai. We had a great time and
it went too fast. If you get to go up to the North Shore, check
out Tropical Tacos. Breezer's has great Shaved Ice in Kapa'a.
Windsurf Kauai gave great lessons.
Thanks again!

Jack & Dorinda,
We've been married now for three weeks ... if marriage is always
this much fun, we've got it made!
Lovely condo, great price and fantastic location. We've been snorkeling
at the Beach House Park, Poipu Beach Park and Sheraton beach; went for a
fantastic hike thru the Waimea Canyon and took some surf lessons! All
in three days!
We've got a whole week to go. And hope our stay in the North goes as
it has here.
Thanks,

Aloha!
Nice condo - so comfortable and great location! Relaxing
vacation - perfect location to beaches for sunning -
snorkeling too. We saw many sea turtles especially on more
"stormy days".
We've been here a few times now and hands down the Beach House
is the best for food and atmosphere! Don't miss it :-)
Thank you, thank you, Thank you!

Aloha!
We've enjoyed every day here. The location of Prince Kuhio is perfect -
we snorkeled at "our" beach every morning before breakfast. We think
it is the best snorkling beach on Kaua'i.
The Botanical Garden down Lawai is a gem (the plantings here at
Prince Kuhio are wonderful too). It's worth the time to stroll
through it (no charge).
Over in Waimea Canyon, the Canyon Trail is an easy hike to Waipo'o
Falls with beautiful views of the canyon and falls as your reward.
The Beach House Restaurant is wonderful - it lives up to its great
reputation.
We loved staying here at #106 and especially appreciated the high
quality pots 'n pans, as we love to cook. Mahalo, Dorinda, Jack & Mark
June 22, 2005
Hello All,
My wife and I decided that we would add to this book for all to
read and enjoy. Today is the first day of a 13 day honeymoon.
Although we got married on June 24, 2004, we are just now getting
to go on the honeymoon. The last year flew by and I love my wife
more now than ever before. Anyways, we came out here with
absolutely no planned agenda other than we were going to relax.
So, we thought that it might be a good idea to chronicle our day
to day exploits and share our experiences and impressions with you.
- Day 1 June 22, 2005
Arrived on Kauai about 3 PM this afternoon. We arrived at this
beautiful condo, unpacked, and decided on a place for dinner. We
decided to go to Brenneckes. Mostly seafood. Excellent dinner.
Little pricey but well worth the money. Then we stopped at the shop
downstairs to look at booking some "touristy" trips. The guy there
was great and cut us a deal on a 5 hr boat tour will tell you about
the boat thing on Friday. Well good night for now. Jon
- Day 2 June 23, 2005
We got up at the crack of dawn (mainly because we are still on
California time) and walked along the local beach for a while.
then we hopped into the Jeep and went for a drive up to Waimea
Canyon. I highly recommend this to anyone. The sight was amazing.
We ate in Koloa at a place called Pizzetta. The pizza is really
good here. We spent the afternoon just swimming in the ocean at
the public beach ... very relaxing and a beautiful sunset. For
dinner, we thought we would try Mi Casita Mexican... what a mistake
that was. Some bottled beer brands weren't cold, some menu items
out of stock, and service was terrible. We ended up paying for our
beer and ended up at Tomkats Grill. Service and food were ok ...
but nothing spectacular. Should have gone back to Brennecke's.
- Day 3 June 24, 2005
Got up early to go on the boat tour. We went with a company called
Kauai Fun. Capt. Greg and his partner Elliott were a lot of fun and
very knowledgeable. It was a 5 hr tour and I highly recommend it. The
boat was a smaller powered catamaran that can go in and out of the
caves. Lunch was provided and it was good. The snorkeling was great
and the water beautiful. We just chilled back at the condo the rest
of the day.
- Day 4 June 25, 2005
We didn't do much today. Just hung out at the local beach and kicked
it at the condo.
- Day 5 June 26, 2005
We drove all over highway 56 to the North Shore. We made stop in Kapa'a
at the local arts and crafts fair and at Hanalei for lunch. We ate at
the Paradise Bar & Grill. Their cajun style fish of the day was great.
We spent the afternoon walking the shore of Ke'e Beach at Ha'ena State
Park. Scenery and drive were awesome.
- Day 6 June 27, 2005
We spent the day shopping and drinking in Kapa'a. Lots of great little
shops. We spent a very relaxing day there. We had lunch at the House
of Noodles. It was excellent food at a good price. We spent a quiet
evening watching the sunset at the beach by the Beach House restaurant.
- Day 7 June 28, 2005
We slept in today and spent the afternoon swimming at Po'ipu Beach.
Again, we watched the sunset at the Beach House.
- Day 8 June 29, 2005 thru Day 13 July 4, 2005
Sorry, was kinda lazy about the book, but you probably got tired of reading
about our trip already. We didn't do much else that was exciting. More
shopping. Hung out at various beaches etc etc etc. However, you must
have dinner at Beach House restaurant at Sunset. Excellent meal and
atmosphere.
With that being said, my wife and I had a great time here and really
enjoyed the condo. Hope you have fun too.

Jack & Dorinda,
We had a fabulous vacation. the island is beautiful and the beaches
supreme. Even though we had a few days of rain, we will leave tanned,
rested and relaxed.
We hope to come back again and bring our daughters. They would love
it. The condo was perfect. The only thing we found missing was
coasters. We bought some and left them for you. This was wonderful!!

Aloha Jack, Dorinda & Mark!
We've had a fantastic week here in Kauai! It's our first visit to
the island and we've loved every minute of it. From the beaches to
the mountains and everything in between. We spent our week traveling
around the whole island, swam with a giant sea turtle, snorkeled and
caught the fabulous sunsets on the Beach House lawn.
We love your condo - it's in a great location and close to everything.
It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved waking
up to the birds singing every morning. One week went way too fast!
So we'll definitely be back. Thanks for a wonderful Stay!
Mahalo,
Rick & Lori

To Our Guests,
Aloha and welcome to our condo! We hope you enjoy your stay on
the island as much as we do. It has been 12 years now that we
have been coming to Kauai and in particular, the South Shore.
We manage this condo with our friend, Mark, who lives on island.
We try to make it a perfect place for you to spend your vacation
on Kauai. Prince Kuhio is our home away from home at least once
a year. We hope you will love this location as much as we do.
Please let us know what you enjoyed most about Kauai and how we can make
your stay more enjoyable next time!

Jack, Dorinda, and Mark
