Prince Kuhio #315 Guest Book - Year 2009

This year, 2009, was a great year for Prince Kuhio because there was a lot of construction work and improvements to the building! But for that same reason, it was a bad year for the owners in regards to bookings. We negotiated rates with guests who were willing to put up with the construction dust and noise but we were completely honest about what to expect. The bulk of the construction went from June to November 2009.

Our stay was great. I do think that location wise this place is perfect. I highly recommend the ultra-light flights. The longer the better - well worth the price. We used Blue Sky - just great. Went with Blue Dolphin for the NaPoli Coast - they were great. Skip the Luau at the Grand Hyatt - Hope your stay is at least for 10 days there really is that much to do. The shrimp truct has good food as does the take out grill next to Kauai Outfitters and the market. Going home to freezing snow and rain - not happy!

Have Fun

We really enjoyed our stay in this condo. The location was wonderful ... after driving all around the island, this spot was our favorite.
Our entire stay was exceedingly windy with many rainy nights. But in spite of the poor weather, we were able to see many parts of the island. We checked out many beaches for snorkeling just in case the wind let up. We were able to swim a couple of times across the street ... how vey convenient to this condo!
Be sure to try Keoki's Restaurant for a beautiful setting and very reasonable prices between 5:00pm - 5:45pm. One of our favorite aspects of the condo are the view out both the front and the back. Don't miss the show that the tree directly in front of the condo puts on each night at sundown. absolutely incredible! We loved spending our 40th anniversary here!

Wowza! This is our 1st trip to HI and Kauai is everything we hoped it would be (and more!). We loved the condo - so cute, cooked many delicious meals - ahi, marlin, steak - loved the grill!! Beautiful surroundings, chill atmosphere, comforting sounds of the waves ... this is paradise.
So much to do in 10 days ... fabulous snorkeling by the "Beach House Beach" and Poipu Beach - surfing too! Hiking NaPali via Awa-awapuhi trail to the most spectacular view by foot.
Ate at Beach House - so delicious! This was the perfect place for our honeymoon ... Now we're off to see the North Shore for 3 days
Mahalo! We highly enjoyed our stay here at Condo 315!
Big Love for Kauai!

Had a wonderful time. Very windy most days and some rain every day as we travelled island. Flew over on Tues to see Pearl Harbor - was so impressed.
We watched seals, turtles and whales across the street on the beach. The whales were there around 5 - 5:30 every night. We went to Kauai Coffee Company. Great coffee samples - had to pick up some beans. Can't wait to use at home. Brick Oven Pizza very good also don't miss Bubbas for burgers. The views in the island are just breath taking. I loved the North Shore. The ocean swells were great.

This is our first visit to Kauai. Last year we did some island hopping and visited Maui, Oahu, the Big Island and Molokai'i. Kauai is beyond comparison. Such wild, unspoiled beauty is inspiring to observe. The condo is in a great locationand is large enough to provide a real "home" feeling.
Reading all the previous comments has been very helpful. We have had a very strong tradewinds and rain several days; however, we still did everything as planned. The very best beach is West of Waimea and stretches for miles. It didn't rain there!
We loved the helicopter tour, the ATV tour (Kipu Ranch Adventures), the Smith Family Luau, and the kayaking trip on the Wailua River. We saw four monk seals on Mahalipu and greatly enjoyed the ridge hike from Shipwreck Beach to the Sink Hole.
Be sure to eat at "Puka Dog" from Poipu Shopping Village. The Shave Ice from JoJo's in Waimea is a real treat. Waimea Canyon is beautiful. Our visit to Kauai has been filled with wonderful adventures that we will always treasure.

We are really enjoying the condo. It's really nice not to have to empty a tiny refrigerator of $7.00 bottles of beer to make room for our own beer.o
On Monday we flew on the big red biplane (Tropical Biplanes) for a tour of Kauai. Wow - what a ride. The canyon and the Na Pali Coast were unbelievable. Kevin (our pilot) performed a maneuver by the falls that was so much fun. We called him back and scheduled another flight. He was fired up when we requested that he not take it easy on us. Take that wow and multiply by 5.
As for the North Shore, make sure to make time to drive all the way to the end - it's well worth it. We did a drive to the Canyon also this is also well worth the time. The views are spectacular and there's plenty of hiking trails.
Another thing that we did was take a NaPali Coast boat trip. The NaPali Coast must be seen from the sea. The air and the land - no wonder it's the star of so many movies.
There's some good snorkeling right across the street, so don't forget the local area.

Okay, my turn ... be respectful of the park next door - it's sacred land. Ask Gary about his garden - you won't be disappointed! You don't need to pay $45 for a garden tour when you have a mini botanical garden right outside your door. Complete with waterfalls and Koi.
Pizzetta in Koloa is underrated - we found their prices reasonable and their food delicious. Their portions are ample and their happpy hour (extra p for extra happy!) should not be missed - $3 Mai tais after a canyon hike hit the spot.
Visit Spouting Hron. Afternoon - less tour bus traffic. Enjoy your stay in paradise!

Have enjoyed the condo. Toured the island from the beaches to the Canyons. Loved to snorkel across the road beside the Beach House and enjoyed dinner there. Truly is paradise.

We had a great vacation. We ate at Brennecke's twice, snorkeled at Poipu Beach, visited Waimea Canyon, and saw the Na Pali Coast via Holo-Holo Tours. Be sure to book the Smith Family Lu'au early because it fills up quickly.

We love this island!

We love it here. Last year we stayed on the first floor and this year we are very happy in 315. The weather has been great for everything we chose to do. We love the fish across the street both the beach (best on island) and the restaurant. Drinks at sunset on the lawn is an added treat. We also had great fish on the grill.
We love going to the North Shore - Kee Beach, Tunnels Beach - Also Shipwreck Beach - all the hotels are beautiful and walk thru, and Dukes for music in great. Blue Dolphin Sunset cruise was a blast. Golf is coming up tomorrow. Joe's on the Green - great early breakfast. Best - Hamara's Saimia, always good - Brennecke's and the fish at Poipu Beach - I could go on and on - Hope to be back next year.
